Leningrado. Anna Ovĉinnikova veturis en la trajno de Leningrado al Beloostrov. Kontrolante trajnbiletojn inspektisto Ŝkvarkin eksciis ke tiu ĉi pasaĝerino misprenis la trajno (la veturprezo de tiu ĉi itinero kostis pli 10 kopekoj) kaj postulis pagi 6 rubloj de monpuno. S-ino Ovĉinnikova havis nur 4 rublojn. Sed Ŝkvarkin estis malpetebla. Li postulis pagi la tuta sumo de monpuno senprokraste, alie li minacis distrajnigi kaj eĉ aresti ŝin. Timigante ŝin Ŝkvarkin instigis ŝin al la stato kiam ŝi saltis eksteren la vagonfenestro dum la trajno estis movanta. Kanajla Skvarkin ne eĉ konsideris haltigi la trajno.

Leningrad. Anna Ovchinnikova was riding a train from Leningrad to Beloostrov. While checking tickets Inspector Shkvarkin found out that this passenger had taken a wrong train (ticket for this route cost 10 kopecks more) and demanded payment of a 6 rouble fine. Ms Ovchinnikova had only 4 roubles. But Shkvarkin was implacable. He demanded immediate payment of the whole amount otherwise he threatened her with detrainment and even detention. Intimidating her with these threats Shkvarkin had driven her to such a state that she jumped out of the window when the train was on the run. Even after that ignoble Shkvarkin did not see right to stop the train.
